My photo
Welcome! As "Annie in Austin" I blog about gardening in Austin, TX with occasional looks back at our former gardens in Illinois. My husband Philo & I also make videos - some use garden images as background for my original songs, some capture Austin events & sometimes we share videos of birds in our garden. Come talk about gardens, movies, music, genealogy and Austin at the Transplantable Rose and listen to my original songs on YouTube. For an overview read Three Gardens, Twenty Years. Garlic Chive Insect

I've been looking at the garlic chive photos taken by MSS at Zanthan and Pam at the Micriobial Laboratory, and decided to see what was on my container plant. My camera can't really capture small insects, but this looks a little like the one on Layanee's blog. Maybe it's a metallic green bee .

Cool, a new insect even yet! I don't believe that I have seen one of these shiny green guys on my chives. Good addition to the chive collection!

Just noticed your Addendum although I remember reading about it in your post some time ago. I guess I should get some garlic chive since it attracts so many insects. I could set up a chair, set of the camera on a tripod and just keep photographing the bugs that visit the plant instead of running around and stalking them. ;) The metallic colors of insects are quite something.
