Let's see if I can still do this - it's been a few years since I posted a bloom list!
As always, these are my best guesses at the proper horticultural names, and I count even a few flowers.
Which is a good thing because bloom is stingy this year,
Abelia, probably Abelia X grandiflora. Three established shrubs have flowers.
Allium tuberosum, Garlic chives in a pot have white flowers
Angelonia angustifolia, Angelonia in pot, light bloom
Anisacanthus quadrifidus var. wrightii, Flame acanthus 3 of 4 plants have light bloom
Asclepias curassavica, tropical milkweed - self planted, a handful in bloom
Begonia hybrids, bedding begonias in containers and hanging pots near patio, all in bloom
Begonia hybrid 'Russian Sabers' Cane begonia in hanging basket, pale coral flowers
Buddleja lindleyana/ Weeping butterfly bush - secret garden. Finally a few blooms after rain from Hurricane Harvey
Callisia fragrans, Grandfather's Pipe or Basket Plant, frost tender, for hanging baskets, one flower wand
Capsicum annuum /wild bird peppers, Chile pequin type - flowers, green berries, red berries
Centratherum intermedium - Brazilian Button flower, self-seeded annual, a few flowers
Chrysactinia mexicana, native yellow-flowering Damianita - two straggly plants in light bloom
Clematis unknown hybrid, red-purple flowers - a few flowers and a lot of dead leaves
Clerodendrum incisum Musical Notes Plant - covered in buds but no open flowers
Clerodendrum ugandense AKA Rotheca myricoides – Blue butterfly flower. A few flowers and a lot of buds
Cosmos sulphureus, reseeding annual - only 3 small plants but they have flowers
Cuphea llavea –red & purple ‘Batfaced’ - three plants, all in bloom
Dianthus – several colors of ‘Telstar’ hybrids in baskets, in bloom
Eupatorium odoratum - best guess for tall plant with many fuzzy white, fragrant blooms, attracts bees and butterflies.
Hibiscus syriacus/Rose of Sharon, althea - two flowers open
Ipomoea quamoclit, Cypress vine, reseeding annual - good bloom on obelisk
Justicia brandegeana, Pink Shrimp plant in Secret Garden - one big bud
Justicia spicigera/ Mexican Honeysuckle- a few flowers and buds
Kalanchoe blossfeldiana? Florist's Kalanchoe, a few flowers
Lagerstroemia indica, hot pink crepe myrtles came with the house - 3 trees, one blooming
Lagerstroemia x hybrida ‘Acoma’ white crepe myrtles - one tree in full bloom, other just light bloom at the very top
Lagerstroemia indica 'Catawba', 2 trees, either side of sweetheart arch, blooming for a few months
Lagerstroemia (indica x fauriei) pink flowering, probably 'Basham's Party Pink' - a few flowers
Lagerstroemia x fauriei 'Zuni' end of bloom cycle
Lobularia maritime, annual Sweet alyssum - survived and blooming in a trough
Loropetalum chinense/ Chinese Witch Hazel, Chinese Fringe Flower, Razzle-Dazzle, one shrub, one tree form - both have a few flowers! In September!
Lycoris radiata, red spider lilies - many bulbs, only 1 flower so far
Malpighia glabra 'nana'?, dwarf Barbados Cherry in container- covered in buds and fragrant flowers
Malvaviscus arboreus var. drummondii/Turkscap or Red Wax Mallow, in three beds, all in large bloom
Malvaviscus arboreus var. drummondii, white form of Turkscap/Wax Mallow, a couple of flowers
Malvaviscus bright coral - labeled 'Big Mama' is in bloom
Myrtus communis nana/ dwarf Greek myrtle - two of them have a few flowers
Nerium oleander/ double yellow oleander 'Mathilde Ferrier' - a few flowers at the very top
Ocimum basilicum, Basil, annual herb, flowering in pots and trough
Osmanthus fragrans/Sweet olive four shrubs, one is beginning to bloom
Oxalis regnellii 'Atropurpurea' flowers in one container
Pavonia lasiopetala, pink rock rose - a few straggly flowers
Pelargonium hybrid, 'Fantasia Salmon', zonal geranium in window, a few florets
Phlox paniculata, Grandma’s white phlox, couple of remaining florets
Phlox paniculata 'John Fanick' - two very small flower heads
Piper auritum/Hoja Santa or Rootbeer Plant has a few flowers
Plumbago auriculata two established plants with some flowers
Poliomintha bustamanta, Mexican oregano a few flowers
Portulaca hybrids, Moss Roses in hypertufa trough and hanging baskets, all blooming
Rhodophiala bifidia/Oxblood Lilies AKA Schoolhouse Lilies in clumps, some in bloom, some finished
Rhus virens, native evergreen sumac, buds showing now
Rosa 'Belinda's Dream', Pink shrub rose - light bloom cycle started by Harvey is just finishing
Rosa 'Mutabilis' a few buds on the one in a big pot
Rosa 'Red Cascade', climbing mini-rose - covered in buds and flowers
Rosa /unnamed apricot mini-rose one flower left
Rosmarinus 'Huntington Carpet' dwarf groundcover rosemary in bloom
Rosmarinus officinalis 'Prostratus' - Prostrate Rosemary w pale blue flowers in bloom
Salvia coccinea, red Hummingbird sage, reseeder, many flowers
Salvia coccinea, white Hummingbird sage, reseeder, a few flowers
Salvia coccinea ‘Coral Nymph’, coral pink Hummingbird sage, reseeder, a few flowers
Salvia farinacea, reseeding Mealy Blue sage, wandlike flowers, yaupon bed and Triangle bed
Salvia greggii 'Lavender & White' has grown a lot and has many flowers.
Salvia greggii 'Navajo White', light bloom, creamy white flowers
Salvia greggii, unnamed varieties of cream, deep rose, true red, red-orange and cherry red - all in bloom
Salvia guaranitica, Majestic blue sage, many flowers
Salvia guaranitica 'Black and Blue', some flowers
Salvia leucantha, Mexican Bush Sage, lots of flowers
Salvia microphylla 'Hot Lips' 3 plants - only one has a few flowers
Salvia vanhoutii 'Wendy's Wish' - medium size plant in pot - steady light bloom
Scutellaria wrightii? blue skullcap one in parkway, two in corner bed, all in light bloom
Torenia fournieri, wishbone plant. Cute shade-loving annual that reseeded with begonias.
Tradescantia sillamontana, Cobweb spiderwort, many dusty pink flowers
Viguiera dentata Sunflower Goldeneye - native - a few buds
Vitex agnus-castus / Chaste tree, Monk's Pepper - steady production of buds and bloom
Zinnia angustifolia white small zinnias, annual in full bloom
